Lone Star Program – this program is tailored for athletes who are ineligible for WRAS squad programs (ie. there is no program for their sport). It is expected that athletes would be at least at NSW representative level in their sport.  Athletes must be aged at least 14 years of age in 2019. These scholarships are designed to assist pre-elite youth athletes in any sport, who are living or attending school in the western region.

Para Sports Program – this program is tailored for athletes who regularly compete at state and national events and who are aspiring to represent NSW and Australia in para-sports competition in their chosen sport.

The 2019 individuals program will run from November 2018 to July 2019. Athletes will graduate from the program at the 2019 Presentation Night in August.

To be eligible for selection in the 2019 program athletes must:

  • be turning 14 years of age in 2019
  • be living or attending school in the WRAS catchment area
  • be representing at NSW level in their sport
  • submit a nomination form before the closing date
  • Strength and conditioning/Injury prevention screenings and programs
  • Sports science fitness testing
  • Educational seminars
