The WRAS program provides high performance coaching and training opportunities to up-skill athletes and assist them in progressing to higher representation within the sport of athletics.

The WRAS athletics program is catering to track and field athletes in 2025.

The 2025 athletics program will run from October 2024 to May 2025. Athletes will graduate from the program at the 2025 Presentation Night in June.

To be eligible for selection in the 2024 program athletes must:

  • Athletes must be turning 13 to 17 years of age in 2025.
  • Athletes must reside or attend school in the WRAS catchment area.
  • Athletes must be a current registered member of Athletics New South Wales.
  • Athletes must meet the performance standards for their event(s) as outlined by Athletics Australia – Athletics Australia Performance Standards 2023/24

If an athlete recorded a time or distance just outside the AA standards, they are encouraged to submit a nomination form. WRAS may open future training events or camps to potential/developing athletes.

  • Intensive training sessions by local elite coaches

  • Injury prevention screenings and Strength and Conditioning training programs
