Two of Blayney’s outstanding young female athletes, Sarah Colman and Emma Pryce Jones, were recently awarded Lone Star scholarships with the Western Region Academy of Sport (WRAS).
These scholarships have been set up to ensure that talented athletes living in small towns in the western region of NSW, have the opportunity to access ancillary sports services that assist them to achieve their sporting goals.
Sarah is a talented footballer and futsal player, while Emma competes in equestrian disciplines. Both Sarah and Emma have been working on a regular basis with Blayney’s Demi Chapman, a Strength and Conditioning Intern with WRAS, on their core strength and recovery. Demi, who recently graduated from Charles Sturt University, also provides them with education and advice with sports science topics.
Both girls have a great future in their sport.
