2009 WRAS Rookie Camps
WRAS is currently conducting Rookie Camps on the CSU Campus, Bathurst.The camps began on Friday night, 10 July, with Basketball and Triathlon. The Hockey and Lawn Bowls followed closely on Sunday 12 July. 145 people from around the Western Region attended the initial camps with another 70 registered for the Netball camp starting Saturday 18 July.The activities conducted at each camp included physiological testing, body movement, individual and specialist skills, and game sense. In July 2008, the Western Region Academy of Sport is conducting Rookie Camps for Hockey and Netball and Rookie Plus Camps for Basketball, Lawn Bowls, Tennis and Triathlon. All of these residential camps will provide rookie athletes with the opportunity to enhance their skills and knowledge in a fun learning environment.
