WRAS scholarships for talented western region athletes

Applications for the WRAS 2010 Lone Star program are now open. Lone Star scholarships are for athletes in any sport recognised by NSW Sport and Recreation who are achieving at least at a NSW representative level and who aspire to reach the highest possible level in their given sport. Lone Star scholarships are formulated for each athlete on an individual basis and include strength and conditioning programs, physical testing and monitoring, sports science support, media skills training, time management, personal development, speed and agility training, coaching, access to NSW Institute of Sport facilities and personnel and possible funding assistance.

WRAS heads to Wallerawang – 1 February 2008

Over 160 Western Region Academy of Sport athletes and squad staff from across the region will converge on Wallerawang this weekend for a live-in training camp. The basketball, high performance, hockey, lawn bowls, netball, softball, tennis and triathlon squads and WRAS lone stars will participate in a variety of development and education sessions.
