The WRAS 2018 netball program will commence on 4 November 2017.

Trial dates

Phase 1 selection trial – Sunday 27 August 2017 in Orange OR Sunday 3 September 2017 in Dubbo.  Further information and a link to the nomination form can be found under Click here for further information and a link to nomination to trial.

Phase 2 final selection trial – Sunday 24 September (by invitation only).

Who is eligible?

Phase 1 selection trial – open to netball players born in 2002, 2003 or 2004 living or attending school in the WRAS catchment area.

Phase 2 selection trial – by invitation only.  To be eligible netballers must have attended a Phase 1 trial, be an age eligible WRAS 2017 netball squad athlete or be identified by Netball NSW.

The WRAS catchment includes the following council areas:  Bathurst Regional, Bland, Blayney, Cabonne, Cowra, Dubbo Regional (including Wellington), Forbes, Gilgandra, Hilltops (including Young), Lachlan, Lithgow, Mid-Western Regional, Narromine, Oberon, Orange, Parkes and Weddin.

Number of Athletes

Up to 24 athletes will be selected


Selected athletes are expected to attend all development training activities and events that are conducted throughout the duration of the program.  WRAS expects netball to be your primary sport of participation


The 2018 netball program will run from November 2017 to August/September 2018.  (End date for the program to be confirmed).

Athletes will be assessed on set criteria which will be provided before the trials.
