Aims and eligibility
The primary aim of the 2012 WRAS High Performance squad is to provide an additional opportunity to select graduate athletes who have competed at state, national or international level, to allow them to continue to progress successfully to the next level of representation. Invited athletes are encouraged to apply for a scholarship. The final selection process will include an interview and athletes should be aware that development will be a dual responsibility – between themselves and the Academy. Athlete’s objectives will need to be set and monitored and both the athlete and Academy staff need to work together and communicate regularly to ensure outcomes are achieved.
Still competing at a junior level as determined by relevant State Sporting Organisation (SSO)
High Performance scholarships will be individually tailored to meet the athlete’s needs. You must attend all designated activities and events where possible.
The program will run from November 2011 to June 2012
Nomination is by invitation only. The selection panel will comprise the Academy staff and a representative of the board. Athletes must have previously been selected to represent their sport at state level or above, and still live in the western region.
