WRAS is currently conducting Rookie Camps on the CSU Campus, Bathurst.The camps began on Friday night, 10 July, with Basketball and Triathlon. The Hockey and Lawn Bowls followed closely on Sunday 12 July. 145 people from around the Western Region attended the initial camps with another 70 registered for the Netball camp starting Saturday 18 July.The activities conducted at each camp included physiological testing, body movement, individual and specialist skills, and game sense. All athletes who attended the camps received expert tuition by coaches from the local region, special guest coaches, senior WRAS graduates and association/club coaches.Players and coaches are exposed to the latest playing and coaching techniques and given instant feedback on improving individual performance.The Academy is grateful for the support received from Charles Sturt University and Bathurst City Council, who provided facilities during the Rookie Camps.
